IPS Chapter 11 inaugurated the 2012 Indian tournament calendar and saw both tournament regulars and quite a few new faces joining the 4-day poker bonanza, which was held at Casino Royale in Panjim, Goa from 12th-15th January 2012.

The Thursday Thunder on Day 1, i.e. 12th Jan 2012, which was a 5 K Double Re-Buy Tournament, was the inaugural event of the IPS, kick started the Indian poker tournament season. It saw a lot of new faces and had 31 entries, 33 re-buys and 26 add-ons, which brought the total count to 90.
The finale table lasted about 2 and a half hours, with the top 4 places being paid. Rohatish Khanduja beat Vikram “Shikari” Verma in heads up play to take home the INR 175, 000 first place prize

This tournament, which lasted almost 9 hours, saw the top 9 players enter the final table with an average stack of about 25 big blinds. Chip leader at the start of the final table, Bharat “Silent Assassin” Agarwalla it seemed encountered a cold deck, when he lost his entire stack in a matter of about 5 hands and busted out of the tournament in 4th place (Luckily for him, it was the top 4 places that made the money!)

The big prize of the night belonged to James Dagostino, when he beat Dhaval Mudgal in the final hand of the night to take down the tournament and the massive payout of INR 300, 000 for first place.
