The India Poker Series (IPS) returned for its 14th installment at the Royale Card Room, aboard Casino Royale anchored on the Mandovi River in Panjim, Goa. Chapter 14 of the IPS took place between 3 – 6 May, 2012, with a satellite slated to take place on the first day, where Umesh Bhutani and Padma Bhakta came out victorious.

The Friday Fusion – INR 10,000 Double Chance Freezeout was slated for Day 2. 28 entries took part in this 7 hour tournament, and saw many regulars like Uday Patil, Vineet Bailur, Kevin Neves, Paras Kumar Kanani and IPS Director Bharat Agarwalla make it to the final table. In the end it was Uday Patil taking on Shashank Desai for the title and Patil came out triumphant, taking home INR 125,000 as first place payout.

The featured event for the weekend, the Saturday Showdown INR 20,000 Main Event with Re-entries was billed for the Day 3, i.e. 5 May, 2012. At the end of registration, the Main Event had attracted a total of 40 entries, which meant that that a total of INR 720,000 was up for grabs to the money finishers. After taking down back to back Main Events at the IPS, Anil ‘The Machine’ Gulati came to the final table in 4th chip position. Unfortunately for him, the poker gods played spoiler as he busted out in 5th place. Goa tournament veterans Pranav Bagai and Vineet Bailur went head to head to determine the winner and after 10 hours of play, Bagai bested Bailur and took home a cool INR 300,000 payday.

The last event of the IPS weekend was the Super Sunday INR 5,000 Re-Entry Tournament. 40 entries took to the felt in the hopes of finishing the weekend on a high. This event too saw quite a few Goa tournament regulars make the final table. Rahul Lal and Manoj Ramakrishnan were the last two players left battling it out and in the end, Lal had all the chips in play. He received INR 100,000 for outlasting the field.
