Chapter 17 of the India Poker Series (IPS) took place last weekend from 20-23 September onboard Casino Royale. This time's IPS was an all freezeout affair although there were plenty of player requests to convert the smaller buy-in events into re-buys or re-entry formats.

At the conclusion of Chapter 17, the points table for the IPS POY still has Vineet Bailur sitting on top of the table with none other than IPS Director Bharat Agarwalla on his heels. There is a fair gap between the two players but Agarwalla does have an outside chance of toppling Bailur on the leaderboard if he puts in good performances in the final chapter of the year for the IPS. Speaking of which, that final year-ending Chapter 18 will take place at the same venue from 21-25 November culminating with the Champion of Champions event with a buy-in of INR 30,000.
The upcoming schedule of Chapter 18 can be found on the IPS website.
