Player in Focus: Amit Jain 0001

The Goa poker circuit has plenty of names who've done consistently well for themselves in domestic tournaments. Many of these have also gone on to perform well at international events as well. And when you put together a healthy string of online scores, well that really is the overall goal that every poker player is aspiring towards.

One such player who has managed to tame this trifecta is Amit Roshan Jain. Based in India's financial capital of Mumbai, Jain has been playing poker for a number of years and about 3 years ago made his presence felt on the Goa tournament circuit with a runner-up finish at the Main Event in December 2010 edition of the India Poker Championship. His 2nd place finish (even chop) in the Charity Event of the Macau Poker Cup Championship was followed up by his 15th place finish in the MPCC Main Event in September last year. As he is not a frequent traveler, Jain has shifted his focus to the virtual felts where he has put together a string of superb finishes including a win at the last edition of the Micro Millions on PokerStars. Itching for some live action, he came to Goa to participate in the February edition of the IPC where he finished a commendable 4th losing out to eventual India Poker Champion, Anuruddha Meddegoda.

Here's a look at Amit Jain, this month's PokerNews India Player in Focus:-
