Kalyan Chakravarthy Reaches Day 2 Of Jeju Red Dragon 2018 High Roller Event

Kalyan Chakravarthy who had recently shipped the WPT India 2018 100K High Roller tournament for ₹ 3,753,000, has reached Day 2 of the PokerStars LIVE Jeju Red Dragon 2018 High Roller Event. The PokerStars LIVE Jeju Red Dragon Series is being hosted at the Landing Casino on Jeju Island with 20 events scheduled from November 30th till December 9th. The main event boasts of a mind-blowing ₩ 1,226,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Day 1 of the High Roller event saw a field of 95 entries in the ₩ 12,000,000 buy-in event. Chakravarthy was 6th in chip lead with Chinese Huahuan Feng as the chip leader with a stack of 415,000. 45 players are still in the hunt for the title on Day 2. The total prize pool has reached ₩ 1,073,500,000 (₹ 6.81 Crore) and the top 13 players will be paid.

Chakravarthy has his work cut out for him with many of the top Asian players still in contention. Chinese Huahuan Feng is the chip learder with 415,000 chips, followed by high-stakes regular Huang Shan with 412,000 chips. In 3rd place we have Nan Wei with a stack of 336,000 and Chen An Lin with 310,500. Wen Jun Long is 5th with 306,500 chip followed by Chakravarthy. Other notable players still in the running are Baby Dragon Event winner James Won Lee, Xinglong Huang, poker veteran John Juanda, and Tong Zhou.

Kalyan Chakravarthy has had a dream run in 2018 with many tournament wins to his name. He has cashed 13 times this year with the highlight being the $ 600 No Limit Hold'em Tourney at the DeepStack Championship Poker Series, Las Vegas for $147,233. He's also killing it online with numerous cashes, the highlight being the inaugural Adda52’s Big Millions for ₹ 28.5 Lakh.
