Day 1b completed
Well that's it for the action here on Day 1b at the World Professional Poker Tour with 3 of the 4 original starters still in it. The action will continue tomorrow on Day 2 which is expected to be the final day's play.
And here are the chipcounts of the final Nine who will return tomorrow to play it down to the winner:-
Anto Pereira driving the action once again with a raise of 1500 and he gets a caller in Maurice Norohna. The flop gets out another bet of 1500 from Pereira which is repopped by Norohna to 4500. Pereira makes the call to see the turn .
Norohna fires out 10000 on that card which is called by Pereira. On the river , Norohna fires out a bet of about 2/3rd of the pot, 20000 chips. Anto Pereira goes into the tank. He's takes a long while after which Norohna calls the clock on him. Pereira eventually does make the call.
So a fortunate river for Norohna who makes two pair and perhaps Pereira missed a trick there by not being a bit more aggressive on the flop.
Maurice Norohna raises it up preflop to 1875 and gets a call from Anto Pereira. Rakesh Sharma folds. The flop has Norohna firing out 1875 again which is flatted by Pereira. The turn is putting three clubs out there. A bet of 2775 by Norohna this time and a call from Pereira to see the river .
Norohna bets out 6575 which is once again called by Pereira.
Norohna v. Pereria
A pair of Queens for Anto Pereira which beats Norohna's pocket Sevens and he will scoop those chips up from the Mumbai player.
As players resume battle after the end of a short break, here's what the chip counts look like:-
With Maurice Norohna on the dealer button, Alok Pawar makes it 1500. He is called by Anto Pereira and Norohna. On the flop of , Pereira makes 2600, Pawar calls and Norohna reraises to 7600. Pereira makes the call and when it comes around to Pawar, he moves his short stack all-in.
So all players having an Ace but Pereira is ahead on the flop with his pair of Fives. The turn and river change nothing and Anto Pereira's Fives hold steady to win the pot and knock out Alok Pawar from tonight's competition.
A preflop raise of 1000 from Alok Pawar which is called by Rakesh Sharma and Anto Pereira. The flop is where Anto Pereira makes it 700 to go and gets called by Pawar. Sharma re-raises to 6500 which is called Pereira. Action to Alok Pawar who makes it an additional 10000 into the pot. This time its only Sharma who calls while Pereira has had enough and gets out of the way.
The turn is and is checked by both players to see the river . Again check check and players turn their cards over.
So a set of Tens for Rakesh Sharma who defeats Alok Pawar’s pair of Ladies.
