Day 2 of Event 57: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em – Six-Handed is in the books, and after 10 more levels of play, Christopher Brammer is the chip leader with 1,467,000 chips and 27 players remaining.

The day started with 167 of the original 474 players, and a little less than three quarters of them left empty-handed. Among the players who busted before the money bubble were Lex Veldhuis, Taylor Paur, Steve Bilirakis, Andrew Badecker, Nick Schulman, Dan Smith, Hiren “Sunny” Patel, Eugene Todd, Joseph Cheong, Isaac Haxton, Dwyte Pilgrim, Haralabos Voulgaris and our bubble boy, Ryan D’Angelo.

D’Angelo was all in and at risk holding {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}, and Sam Chartier had {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}. The board ran out {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and D’Angelo stone-bubbled.

The eliminations were fast and furious once the bubble burst and 48 players quickly turned into 27 in three hours. Among those who cashed, but busted on the day, were Jonathan Duhamel, William Reynolds, Kevin Stammen, Amit Makhija, Thiago Nishijima and the aforementioned Chartier. Chartier called an all in from Nick Maimone with ace-high, and was drawing dead on a board of {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Maimone held {6-Spades}{5-Spades}, and ended the night with just over a million chips.

Joining Maimone and Brammer at the top of the counts are Stanislav Barshak (1,024,000), Carter Phillips (928,000), Frederik Jensen (898,000) and Timothy Adams (831,000). Also in the hunt are Jason Mercier (525,000), Eugene Katchalov (272,000), Tony Hachem (427,000) and Kyle Julius (430,000).

Play resumes tomorrow at 1:00 PM local time. Until then, good night from the World Series of Poker!

Chartier Calls All In Drawing Dead

[user101598]

Josh Brikis opened to 23,000 from the cutoff, Nick Maimone called from the small blind, and Sam Chartier three-bet to 73,000 from the big blind. Brikis tank-folded, and Maimone made the call.

The flop spread {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, and Maimone checked. Chartier fired 56,000, and Maimone check-raised to 120,000. Chartier called.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds}, and Maimone quickly announced, "all in."

Chartier slipped into the tank, and a fight almost broke out on the rail between a friend of Chartier's and a friend of Brammer's. Thankfully, the two individuals did not come to fisticuffs, and were separated by Sam Grafton.

After over eight minutes, Chartier called, and Maimone tabled {6-Spades}{5-Spades}. Chartier was drawing dead with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}, and the {10-Spades} completed the board. Chartier nearly sprinted out of the Amazon Room, while Maimone raked in the monster pot.

Greenberg Eliminated; Romanello in the Hunt

Happy_Freaked

Roberto Romanello was just all in preflop for 290,000 and up against Lawrence Greenberg.

Romanello showed {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} and was up against {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{A-Clubs} and Romanello doubled up.

Greenberg was eliminated on the next hand. He was all in with {A-}{9-} versus Tony Hachem's {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for 40,000, but couldn't hold.

More Pressure, More Chips

Happy_Freaked

Christopher Brammer is sky-rocketing the field with a massive 1.5 million stack. He just took some off Josh Brikis who's getting quite short.

Brikis raised to 25,00 and the action was folded to Brammer in the big blind. He took a look at Brikis' stack and called.

The flop came down {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Brammer checked. Brikis bet 28,000 and Brammer raised to 80,000. Brikis double-checked his cards and folded.
